Rare Franklin Variety Found! The first example of a FS-50-1954-101 has been certified by PCGS as PR66! This is one of the toughest Franklin proof varieties listed in the "Cherrypickers' Guide To Rare Die Varieties!" Another scarce variety was also attributed by PCGS recently, FS-50-1962-101 in PR65. This is only the 2nd example that PCGS has certified. posted March 18, 2012

Cherrypickers' Guide Update The 5th edition, volume 2 "Cherrypickers' Guide To Rare Die Varieties" is now available! PCGS and NGC are attributing most of the new listings. Pick up a copy if you haven't already done so! posted January 11, 2012
NGC & "Bugs Bunny" NGC has just started attributing 1955 "Bugs Bunnies!" Up until now they would not designate these because they consider them die stages and not a true variety. According to their website, "it will be recognized by NGC only when found sharply impressed and without severe die erosion." posted January 8, 2012
Cherrypickers' Guide The 5th edition, volume 2 of the "Cherrypickers' Guide To Rare Die Varieties" is due out later this year. There will be some great Franklin varieties added. I highly recommend picking up a copy once they're available in stores or online! posted August 30, 2011 |
